Introduction of Nishihara Lab (closed in March 2016)

Nishihara lab belonged to Department of Human System Science, Tokyo Institute of Technology. It also had students from Department of Communications and Computer Engineering. Main areas of research were signal processing and educational technology.

[Undergraduates]

Prof. Nishihara taught at Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering. His lab. accepted a few senior students every year for their bachelor theses research.

[Graduate Study]

Prof. Nishihara taught both at Department of Communications and Computer Engineering and at Department of Human System Science and accepted a few graduate students each. The students conducted research on signal processing or educational technology. They were requested to determine their research themes themselves.

International Graduate Program

Department of Communications and Computer Engineering and Department of Human System Science offered International Graduate Program, where students can take entrance examination in English and some courses are taught in English.

Life in the Lab

Members of Prof. Nishihara Lab. were assigned their individual desks and computers at room #822 of the Ookayama West #9 Building, which was built in May 2004, and were able to use the network resources at Tokyo Institute of Technology.

We had two seminars per week. In seminars, students presented and discussed on their study/work on signal processing or educational technology.
